Heisman vote

I guess it got lost a bit in all the bowl game hoopla, but I submitted my Heisman Trophy vote today. I went with Tim Tebow first, Darren McFadden second and Chase Daniel third.

Really, I wasn't conflicted at all about the top two. I think Tebow will win by a comfortable margin. Didn't know exactly what I wanted to do with the third spot. I decided Missouri wouldn't even have been in the national championship picture without Daniel playing as well as he did, so I settled on him.

As much as I hate Tebow, he's the only one deserving of the award. I think he'll win in a landslide bigger than did Reggie Bush a couple years ago (which was the biggest margin ever).

So based on your logic for voting Daniel 3rd, how can you vote Tebow 1st?

You could put a sack of potatoes in at UF and they'd talent their way to at least an 8-4 record.

Hey, there is some buzz about A.J. Green considering Miami????? Has anyone hear anything??? Can you do a update on recruiting?

First I respect your opinion, but I would not have voted teabow in the top three. Bradford had a better quarterback rating and Teabow was not in the top five passers for yardage. True passing quarterbacks do not have to run the ball to score 20 "1 yard" touchdowns. Yes he is important to his team but so are the Oregon and Hawaii quarterbacks. I think Aigne is a better quarterback than Teabow.

Be proud of yourself for voting for another undeserving player. Just another hype bandwagoner like the rest of the media (sigh).

I'm proud of myself for lots of reasons. Causing you to type out the word "sigh" in an anonymous response is only one of them.

AJ is a pretty solid commit... I don't see him going anywhere else but Georgia. Although, I have heard some talk of him getting injured in the state championship last weekend--but I'm not sure how bad it was. Toby Jackson (a DE who is currently a soft verbal commit to UGA)is pretty high on Miami. I'd hate to see him go, but we have two pretty good DE's in the class already so if we could spare any position in the class, DE is it. Speaking of Miami, Patrick Johnson, the consensus #1 CB who is currently committed to Miami (soft verbal), has been extremely high on UGA ever since he visited for the Auburn game. He was quoted as saying the Blackout was hands down his favorite recruiting experience.

Do you really think that Tebow is a better QB than Chase Daniel?

based on what, exactly?

Rushing performance?

Why didn't Woody Dantzler (Clemson) win the Heisman?

Give me a break!

David, you said in an earlier post, one I thought was pretty good...

paraphrasing...

I expect two things from a Heisman Trophy Winner, Football Excellence, and Doesn't Cry. Tim Tebow exemplifies one of these.

David,

You've been one of my favorite media guys, but Tebow is a lot of smoke and mirrors...especially when it comes to being the best player in all of college football.

Chase Daniel was a much better qb. Yet, you penalize him for 2 losses, while giving Tebow a free pass on his.

Tebow has a terrific season, but his stats are fluffed by a ton of goal line TD runs.

Goal Line TDs and lots of 4-5 TD performances against shitty Ds like Troy and Florida-Int'l (or whichever directional Florida it was).

He's like A-Rod hitting a grand slam when the Yankees already lead 8-1.

Monster #s, but he couldn't do it when it counted against Auburn, LSU or UGA

You know David, you should think of us like that extended family you only see on Thanksgiving. You know, where everyone argues.

Hey, give the guy a break. He is a sports writer, he doesnt fully understand sports because he probably never played em....

It takes real courage in the land of the dawgs to vote Tebow for Heisman. He is the most dominant player in the SEC since Herschel and that is saying a lot.

The short yardage comments by some show that they are short on something too...common sense.

Rivalries should take a back seat when it doesn't involve one team directly against another. Nice article.

I WAS IMPRESSED WITH TIM THIS SEASON. I AM A BIG GATOR FAN, AND TEBOW JUST DID WAY BETTER. EVERBODY SAYS THINGS ABOUT HIS GOAL LINE TOUCHDOWNS, BUT HE DID WHAT SOME RB'S CANT DO. HO COME HE HAS MORE TOUCHDOWNS THAN ANY OTHER RB? BECAUSE THEY CAN'T DO IT. HIS STATS BLOWS THE OTHER QB'S OUT OF THE WATER. 6 INTS, BIG # IN RUCHING YRDS, NOT THE HIGHEST IN PASSING YARDS BUT HE CAN THROW ASWELL. IF IT WASNT FOR HIS SHOULDER IN THE FLA VS. GA GAME, THEY WOULD HAVE ONLY BEEN 10-2. BUT TIM HAS MY VOTE AND DESERVES IT MORE THAN ANY OTHER PLAY. IF ANYONE ELSE DESERVED IT, IT'D BE MCFADDEN.

Come on a sack of Potatoes? Most rushing TDs for a QB in the HISTORY of the College Football... even back when QBs actually ran the ball. A Sack of Potatoes.
