He should not be speeding. Carrying a concealed weapon in your vehicle is legal in Georgia.
If the weapon was on his person he must have a permit.
What was the weapon? Was it a full automatic uzi or, was it a pocket knife?
I wonder how a speeding ticket turned into a concealed eapons charge. Something else happened that we don't know about. Ordinarily, if someone is stopped for speeding, they get a ticket and drive away. But that didn't happen in this case. If the weapon was concealed, how did the officer find out about it?
Oops. That should obviously be "weapons", not "eapons"...
A weapon is concealed if it is not fully exposed. Therefore the butt could be in plain sight but the barrel could have slipped between the seat
do you know why Marcus Dowdtin is no enrolled at UGA in June?
After reading details from the police report, unloaded glock handgun found under the seat with ammunition but no permit after allowing police to search the car.
Where can we read the police report?
Jeremy broke the law & deserved to be arrested. Period. Props to him for being honest, but he knew he needed a permit, and had not gotten around to it yet. Idiot. Read Dogbytes on the abh - they have the full story & the police report.
And Marcus Dowtin couldn't enroll in June because he didn't fulfill his resposibilities with the NCAA clearinghouse. He graduated from a prestigious private school with honors, but whatever. Anyways, its all straightened out & he will be on campus by August.
permit was not the issue...as of right now, having it in the glove box or on top of the seat would have made it perfectly legal. On July 1, even having under the seat as Jeremy did would be okay.
Permit was the issue Eugene - had he applied for one he could've had the weapon under the seat or anywhere he pleased.
He didn't & got arrested. Don't know why you can't grasp that.
